Project Ready Set Read aims to increase literacy and access to education for children in underserved communities. However, above all else, Project Ready Set Read aims to inspire a transformative love of reading in children.
A Ready Set Read chapter helps expand our goals and reach into new communities beyond our founding chapter. Project Ready Set Read chapters are dedicated to the same overall goal and operate both domestically and internationally. Chapters may work with a specific community, school, or organization.

Hello! My name is Jasmine Abuwarda and I am so happy to be a part of this project. Some things I enjoy doing are reading, hiking, and pottery. My favorite subjects are also English and Geology.
About Jasmine's chapter: In my chapter, I would like to help non-English speaking children learn how to read in English. I will work with Arabic-speaking children and create bilingual curriculum. Additionally, I will work with children both domestically and internationally.

Hi! My name is Hyla Alrajab and I'm excited to be a part of Project Ready Set Read. I enjoy reading, drawing, painting, and hanging out with friends. I also do Martial Arts which I am very passionate about. In the future, I hope to major in biology and go to medical school.
About Hyla's chapter: Through joining Project Ready Set Read, I hope to enhance the reading and writing skills of children in my city. In my chapter, I plan on preparing exciting activities that engage the students and cover the curriculum at the same time. By asking the children what types of activities they would prefer, I will be able to cater to the needs and wants of the children. This ensures that our monthly meetings are enjoyable for all the children!
